JOB DESCRIPTION

Standby Driver

Description

Dream management Inc.

The company driver standby is assigned various duties, tasks, and responsibilities in support of all shifts and routes during established work hours in normal and inclement weather. Due to the nature of our business an assignment may change at a moment’s notice. The driver standby is obligated to adhere to the supervisor’s directions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Clock in on time; dress professionally and in accordance with company’s dress code.
  • Mandatory over time is required due to variety of route sign-off times which Driver Standby will legitimately need to adhere to.
  • Must have the ability to drive any of the buses as circumstance requests.
  • Be prepared to respond in a moment’s notice to the request of a supervisor
  • Ensure that buses are kept perfect and clean at all times by cleaning the inside when needed
  • Perform daily maintenance on buses, such as checking fluid level, damage outside or inside, as well as refueling. Report any damage of buses to the supervisor or manager
  • Inspect bus parking-ensuring that all buses are parked in appropriate lot and appropriate spacing, You may be required to reposition buses.

Perform basic support undertakings due to inclement weather as in, but not limited to: snow and/or ice clearing, sanding, shoveling, removing snow from buses.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Driver s License, CDL B w/P Endorsement.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner Card.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Knowledgeable of and compliance with the laws and regulations applicable to the safe operation of motor vehicles.
  • Standby qualified.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
