CONTROLLER
A Controller actively manages all aspects of property finance and accounting, including Revenue Audit, and General Accounting. In addition to providing outstanding guest service to internal and external guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive to this position.)
  • Ensure consistent high-quality service to all our team members and guests.
  • Delegate authority, and assign responsibilities and work schedules to department staff.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to all departments and functional areas of responsibility. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to casino banking.
  • Monitor cash needs to minimize amount of cash-on-hand.
  • Participate in developing and managing the property and departmental budget, including capital expenditures.
  • Act as liaison with internal and external auditors.
  • Develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and general accounting practices.
  • Review and analyze financial statements and other financial information and reports with directors and managers as necessary.
  • Develop and manage processes to protect Company assets in all areas of responsibility.
  • Manage monthly general ledger posting process.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting system, legitimacy of assets, and proper accounting and inventory of assets.
  • Timely communicate all issues within span of control.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial information, operating systems, company policies and procedures, marketing plans, and team member information.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Review and manage financial data for department including creating and maintaining departmental expenses to meet budgeted goals.
  • Manage escalated guest service issues appropriately and discreetly.
  • Have knowledge of guest alcohol limitations and company policy and procedure regarding limitations.
  • Communicates pertinent information to senior staff, surveillance, or other necessary team members that is important to the operation of the casino.
  • Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
  • Ensure satisfaction to guests.
  • Follow lawful directions from supervisors.
  • Uphold the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements.
  • Interact well with others and be a positive influence on team member morale.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends, and holidays; shifts may change.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A Bachelor’s degree in an accounting- or finance-related field, at least 7 years of experience in the accounting or finance field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Must possess excellent teamwork, interpersonal, guest service, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a professional demeanor and presence with the ability to interact with guests and team members in the Company.
  • Gaming industry experience is preferred.
