About the Role:

Dr. Squatch is on a mission to educate men to be happier and healthier, and with our growth, we are seeking an Associate Director of Engagement and Learning & Development to drive the engagement strategy and redefine our L&D program. The AD of Engagement and L&D is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance employee engagement, build a strong learning culture, and contribute to the organization's overall success. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and innovating processes for learning & development, training, and other HR programs, with a strong focus on strategic alignment and future needs. An ideal candidate would have an analytical approach to L&D, providing data-driven insights and recommendations that propel the organization's strategic direction. 

This role works cross-functionally within the People & Culture team and throughout the organization, engaging with employees at all levels. We are looking for someone with experience in hyper-growth environments who can anticipate needs, proactively develop solutions, and consistently move beyond reactive measures.

This role will report to the Chief People Officer.

This is a full-time hybrid role with company benefits based out of Squatch HQ in Marina del Rey, CA, with occasional trips to Dr. Squatch Bricc City in Brea, CA. 

The anticipated base compensation for this role will be $110,000 to $150,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive employee engagement strategy that aligns with company goals.
  • Identify and implement creative initiatives to boost employee morale, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Drive the strategic development and execution of a comprehensive L&D program, aligned with business goals and objectives. 
  • Tailor programs for specific learning needs of employees at varied levels and positions.
  • Demonstrate the measurable impact of L&D programs on employee performance, retention, and talent development.
  • Lead and develop innovative L&D practices, identifying and implementing cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies, in line with Company values.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the People & Culture department and build effective partnerships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Drive successful implementation of engagement and L&D programs and initiatives through effective change management strategies.
  • Develop and deliver impactful training programs across various formats, including in-person workshops, online courses, and coaching.
  • Conduct follow-up surveys to evaluate and measure the results of training and engagement programs, modifying them as needed to ensure effectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary P&C contact for the buildout of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Act as an advisor on and owner of various HR tech stack tools.
  • Manage the L&D budget and allocate resources effectively to support strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (HR), Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, and/or other related field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years in a role focused on Learning & Development, Training, or a related field is required
  • HR or L&D certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or CPLP preferred
  • Excellent communicator with experience supporting several stakeholders and presenting to executives
  • Strong ability to create and present information in a concise, meaningful way that resonates with leadership and employees at all levels 
  • Passionate about building a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and hyper-growth environment with the ability to anticipate needs and take a proactive approach
  • Interest in health and wellness, personal care, CPG, and/or eCommerce industries is a plus
  • Experience working in a manufacturing company is highly preferred
  • Someone who gets things done on a strict timeline without perfect resources, is innovative, and works with a sense of urgency
  • Someone who is passionate and excited about the L&D space,has high standards, takes ownership, and is invested in the outcome
  • Someone who proactively helps others, stays positive, and has a good sense of humor
