Dental Assistant Job Description:

This job involves documenting and updating treatment plans, taking X-rays, adjusting dentures and partial, assisting in Dentist with implant placement and extraction, making temps for crowns and bridges and taking impressions.

Applicants for this job should have strong interpersonal skills, the ability stay calm under pressure, and the stamina to spend hours on their feet.

Prepare the Treatment Room

Able to prepare the treatment or operating room for procedures, making sure that dentists have all the tools and equipment they’ll need prior to each appointment.

After appointments, they clean up, restock supplies, and sanitize the room.

Assist Dentists During Procedures Expanded functions dental assistants help dentists carry out procedures and treatments on patients, which can include everything from routine checkups, implant surgery, restorative procedures and making crown or bridge temps.

Take impressions and bite molds for dentures and partials so that the correct treatment can be prepared for patients.

Update Patient Records

Document each patient’s treatment and progress on their records, noting any X-rays, updates to dental issues and treatments, and dental impressions or casts.

Sterilize Equipment

Keeping the surgery area clean and tidy is a key aspect of the expanded functions dental assistant, so it’s important that all equipment is sterilized before and after use and that all preparation areas are thoroughly cleaned to meet health and safety regulations.

Provide Post-Operation

Advice After surgery, dental assistants talk the patient through any complications or successes and provide them with follow-up instructions, oral hygiene advice, and postoperative care tips.

Bilingual is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
