DescriptionElectrical Superintendent OverviewThe Electrical Superintendent plays a crucial role in leading and managing the successful execution of large-scale electrical projects. This position serves as the key point of contact on-site, overseeing project teams, coordinating activities, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and schedule objectives. The Superintendent collaborates closely with General Foremen, general contractor, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive project excellence and contribute to the company's commitment to delivering exceptional electrical installations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the overall operations of large electrical projects, serving as the primary on-site authority and point of contact.
  • Collaborate with General Foremen, field employees, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure seamless coordination and integration of project activities.
  • Oversee and ensure the safety of all personnel on the job site, promoting a culture of safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and execute project schedules, monitor progress, and make adjustments as needed to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints, ensuring accurate implementation and compliance with project requirements.
  • Allocate resources, equipment, and manpower efficiently to optimize project productivity and achieve project goals.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to General Foremen and field teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Implement quality control processes, conduct inspections, and ensure work meets established quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Manage project budgets and expenses, monitoring costs and taking proactive measures to control expenditures.
  • Communicate regularly with Project Managers, upper management, and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Resolve conflicts, address issues, and make critical decisions to ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in project planning meetings, contributing insights and strategies to drive effective project execution.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in electrical construction to continually enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with a strong track record of managing field teams and projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, codes and industry regulations.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and empower teams to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, capable of adapting to changing project demands.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex project logistics.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Experience with project scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
  • Demonstrated capability to execute a wide range of physical movements, encompassing bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Proficiency in lifting objects exceeding 50 lbs, adeptly handling substantial electrical equipment and materials such as light fixtures, wires, conduits, junction boxes, motors, and related items.
  • Skilled in working at varying heights utilizing tools such as A-Frames, extension ladders, boom lifts, scaffolds, and aerial work platforms.
  • Competence in performing trenching and excavation tasks as required.
  • Keen visual acuity (normal or corrected) and ability to accurately discern and differentiate wire colors.
  • Strong capability to stand for extended durations, approximately 90% of the workday.
  • Adeptness in transporting materials between locations or across different levels.
  • Proficiency in handling tools above head level for various tasks.
