JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the SVP of External Affairs, the Communications Assistant II will support the department's objectives of 1) Marketing and communicating Doyon's role across regional, statewide, and national platforms; 2) Providing timely updates to Doyon shareholders on corporate activities; and 3) Ensuring employees are informed about corporate operations and objectives. The Communications Assistant II will assist in coordinating events, assisting with communications and marketing efforts, managing administrative tasks, and providing backup support as necessary, emphasizing confidentiality and professionalism throughout.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and attending various corporate and community events
  • Assist with planning village corporation trainings
  • Assist with planning and implementing Interior Native Vote (INV) campaign efforts
  • Assist with the drafting of communications and marketing materials, including:
    o Monthly newsletter and e-newsletter
    o Corporate website sections
    o Employee Portal and portal email
    o Corporate advertisements and other materials as needed
    o Brochures, cards, special publications, and corporate presentations
  • Support planning and implementing marketing campaigns
  • Act as the backup corporate photographer
  • Provide calendar management for communications/meeting rooms, call-in information, follow-up meetings, and agendas
  • Compose and prepare routine correspondence and support the development of recurring reports.
  • Create weekly status reports on department activities and priorities
  • Manage day-to-day execution of assigned projects and scope
  • Schedule travel, meeting, and conference arrangements
  • Assist in P-Card reconciliations and expense reports
  • Assist in coding and tracking invoices and expenses
  • Provide records management and filing
  • Serve as backup for the receptionist
  • Answer, screen, and relay incoming and outgoing calls
  • Attend meetings, as necessary, and take minutes
  • Preserve confidentiality of proprietary information and use judgment in recognizing the scope of authority
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION:
  • Assists in the supervision of the Communication Intern when needed.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree in communications, marketing, or related fields
o May substitute communications/progressive administrative experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Three (3) years of administrative experience in a professional office setting required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe In Design and Photoshop
  • Two (2) years experience with the Associated Press writing style
  • One (1) year of experience with graphic artwork

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
