Overview

JOB SUMMARY : Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the employee will support the Doyon Foundation Mission in creating and implementing new programs in Workforce Development and the Scholarship Department, establish strategic community relationships, and participate in outreach activities while contributing to the development of the Workforce Development department.

Responsibilities

  • Community Outreach :
  • Organize and attend community events to promote foundation programs
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations to expand outreach efforts
  • Conduct presentations and workshops to engage community members
  • Program Development :
  • Collaborate with team members to identify program needs and objectives
  • Design program structures and curriculums to meet identified goals
  • Implement evaluation methods to assess program effectiveness and make improvements
  • Event Planning & Fundraising :
  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events, including venue selection and catering
  • Develop fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet financial goals
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers for event execution
  • Grant Research / Writing :
  • Research potential grant opportunities aligned with foundation goals
  • Prepare grant proposals and applications, ensuring compliance with guidelines
  • Maintain records and documentation for grant reporting requirements
  • Public Relations :
  • Draft press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials
  • Cultivate relationships with media outlets and respond to media inquiries
  • Monitor public perception and feedback, adjusting communication strategies as needed
  • Marketing :
  • Develop marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and social media content
  • Execute marketing campaigns to promote foundation initiatives and events
  • Analyze marketing metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and make adjustments
  • Budgeting :
  • Work with management in the development of annual budgets for programs and events
  • Monitor expenses and revenue related to fundraising efforts
  • Attend relevant continuing education initiatives, including a limited number of events each year, which may necessitate overnight travel.
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION :

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or another similar area of study OR four (4) years of work-related experience at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated administrative and program coordination experience to support a team-oriented environment.
  • Valid Driver's license, access to a registered vehicle, and must be able to provide proof of state-required insurance on a registered vehicle.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to fulfill Doyon Foundation's mission.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Experience or demonstrated success in grant writing

WORKING ENVIRONMENT : The majority of the work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds.
