As a security engineer at Dovetail, you'll play a key role in improving and maturing our security measures. The role will involve cross-team collaboration, improving tooling and swiftly responding to any security issues that arise.

What you'll do

  • Join our Security team. You will be a critical member of the security team working closely with product and platform engineering teams to help mature Dovetail’s security posture whilst being a key part of the Security incident response team.
  • Help mature Dovetail’s security detection and response capabilities. Develop and manage new Security monitoring and automation tools to enhance Dovetail’s detection and response capabilities whilst working with the platform engineering team to improve our vulnerability management processes.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and mitigations. Identify and evaluate security risks and work with the broader Dovetail team to implement and drive effective mitigations. Be a part of the security review process on new tools and Dovetail’s features and products.
  • Promote and foster a culture of security awareness. Part take in running our general security awareness by working with and mentoring the wider Dovetail team in building a stronger culture of security awareness.

Your background

  • Experience with cloud security technologies. You will have experience with AWS’s suite of security tools, such as Guardduty, Inspector, Security Hub and Detective. Experience with typescript, EKS/Kubernetes and infrastructure as code (Pulumi or Terraform) is ideal.
  • You are pragmatic and flexible. Like your new teammates, you're used to doing what's necessary to get the job done. You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, operate with high independence, collaborate effectively, be resourceful in solving problems, and be able to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals.
  • When you do it, you nail it. You share our keen eye for quality. You don't half-ass your work, instead what you ship is top-notch. You cut scope before cutting quality.
  • Excellent, concise communicator. You can easily convey your thoughts, opinions, and feelings with your security and other engineering teams and have the ability to articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs.
