Mower Operator - Temporary Labor

This is work performing routine and semi-skilled duties in mowing with agriculture type equipment, and equipment maintenance. As a temporary position, no benefits are available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ((The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.) INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: Work is often performed independently and requires self-initiative and good judgment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under general supervision with defined tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not directly supervise other employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge: Skills: Abilities: CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical Work Environment: Exposure to weather, noise, vibration, confined/restricted working environment, and platform for movement. Mowing can be performed in heavy-traffic areas, roadsides, over rough terrain, including steep inclines.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, standing, walking, walking on uneven terrain, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling.
Equipment Used: Mowers, county vehicles, and tools related to completion of work. May use hand tools, power tools, or other equipment.

In the event of an emergency/disaster in or near the County, all County employees are expected to make every effort to be available to assist the County Manager, Elected/Appointed Officials and Department Directors to ensure the continued operation of any and all necessary County functions. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.
