The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners is sponsoring a Summer Empowerment/Internship Program.This internship will provide individuals with opportunities to perform entry level tasks with adequate training in various County departments. Interns will be responsible for, but not limited to greeting office visitors, answering phones and performing office functions using computers, computer software, copiers, scanners, assistance/training on operating various types of equipment, etc. There are fifteen (15) internship slots available. The summer program will offer active engagement from various County departments, including County Police, Juvenile Court, Finance, Library, Tax & Tag Property, Registrations & Elections, Disaster Recovery, and Public Works (Parks & Maintenance Divisions), as they welcome interns into their respective domainsProspective participants must be a resident of Dougherty County, a 2024 high school graduate or upcoming Senior, a college, university or Turner Job Corps student. Must be a United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States. Seeking students with interest an in gaining work experience in local government and or seeking a degree in the following programs of study: Business Administration, Political Science, Business Management, Public Administration, or related fields.
