Job Prerequisites
Must be able to lift heavy loads (30 lb. min.), must have good vision and clear speaking habits. Must listen with careful attention and follow verbal and written instruction.
Required Skills
Must be able to work with the computer system, present change to guests, handle guest charge procedures correctly and converse with guests in a pleasant manner.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Report directly to a supervisor for station assignment
· Complete all side work assigned
· Maintain and clean all equipment used
· Correctly answer questions about the preparation and service of all food and beverage on the menu
· Follow established check distribution procedures
· Charge correct prices for all food and beverage ordered
· Sell and serve all food and beverage
· Reset for the next meal period
· Take total responsibility for your guests’ service
· Comply with TWIST service standards
· Work as a team for complete satisfaction
· Handle any request, within reason, that management would ask
Before Opening
· Stock supplies and food, enough for a busy shift and for the entire day
· Gather necessary equipment and tools
· Assist bus person in polishing extra silver to insure efficient table turning
· Pre check tables for proper setting and cleanliness
After Opening
· Greet guests within 2 minutes after they have been seated
· Offer beverages using suggestive selling techniques. Deliver promptly. Describe any specials
· Take order. Repeat order to guest for clarification.
From this point on, the timing of the meal is left to your discretion. You will make the decision as to when the entree order should be taken and each course served. Please note that we serve from the left and take from the right whenever possible and as a courtesy, we serve ladies first. After the meal is completed and you and the bus person have cleared the table of any unnecessary china, silver and glassware, offer additional service. Present check according to Holiday Inn Select standards.
At Closing
· Reset tables properly for next shift
· Fill salt, pepper and sugars
· Clean any crumbs from chairs
· Straighten side stands
· Break down all food items
· Marry condiments
· Empty tea and coffee and wipe down machines
· Wipe down counter tops and equipment used
· Have station check with dining room supervisor
· Any other duties assigned by management
· Clock out
