Our Security Guard role is responsible for the safety of any person who is in our production facility building. We prioritize the safety of our employees and this position would ensure that safety. Creating joy is only possible if we are putting the safety of our employees first.

Location: This role will support security services within our Burr Ridge and Elmhurst locations based on business needs.

About the role:

• Responsible for the main employee entrance, checking in the temporary workers at the employee entrance, and checking in visitors to the main building. Responsible for making sure that any non- Double Good employees are signing in to Swiped On
• Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
• Patrol and monitor the building, grounds and parking lots
• Secure premises and personnel by controlling entry and screening all visitors per district policy.
• Detect, and report unauthorized or suspicious persons, vehicles and activities
• Monitor surveillance and security alarm systems, communicating necessary information
• Assist staff in crisis and emergency situations
• Assist with planning, coordinating and working special events and projects
• Assist with investigations as needed and assigned
• Provide crowd control for and traffic control for events/activities (as assigned) to ensure compliance with DG safety and security procedures
• Control traffic flow in the parking lot by talking with drivers to ensure that all entrances and exits, in the parking lot, are accessible
• Escort discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off of the premises.
• Design, develops, and implements security protocols
• Draft, maintains, and updates security procedures and documentation
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

• Demonstrated success as a security officer, security guard, police officer, loss prevention specialist, ideally with 4 years’ experience
• Outstanding attention to detail, observation, and surveillance
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience which developed the ability to perform tasks required by a security officer
• Excellent problem solving and people management skills
• Above average computer skills and knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic monitoring and programming software
• Ability to review and evaluate operating procedures and recommend improvements
• Ability to prepare and brief high level and sensitive information reports as required
• Ability to multitask while working on a computer and monitoring several technology outlets
• Strong people and process management skills

Bonus points if:

• Trained in First Aid
• Experience in surveillance systems
• Advanced training or certification in security
• Background in Law Enforcement or Military
• Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to move throughout the manufacturing facility while adhering to safety procedures
