SUMMARY:The IT Support Specialist will plan, initiate, and manage information technology projects and outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Direct daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines.
  • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
  • Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
  • Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
  • Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery.
  • Stay abreast of advanced technologies and software for possible upgrades and implementations of such programs.
  • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.

  • Monitor network and website performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
  • Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.Evaluate the organization’s technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as software and hardware upgrades. 
  • Solid understanding of computer software programs - Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012/2019, SQL Server, Office 365, Sage HRMS, and Rubex eFile.
  • Ability to resolve very complex or previously unknown issues requiring high level technical expertise while coaching other staff.
Available for after-hours support for emergencies and to perform software/server updates.
Other duties as assigned.
PAY BASED UPON EXPERIENCE.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Certifications in computer technologies from a technical or collegiate school and two years to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Ability to read and provide information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, e-mail, or in person.
  • Ability to write, enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in written or electronic form.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of consumers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
REASONING ABILITY:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills, independent means of travel.
  • Aptitude for using computer tools reliably.
  • Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
  • Determining how a system should work and how changes, conditions, operations, and the work environment will affect the outcomes.
