Don Hattan Chevrolet is Hiring an Automotive General Sales Manager Near Wichita, KS

Due to tremendous and continuing growth, Our Dealership group is looking for a goal-oriented, experienced Automotive General Sales Manager to join our team. Candidates must have a proven track record. The General Sales Manager is responsible for achieving maximum profitability of the sales department while focusing on customer retention. To achieve this, they must effectively manage sales personnel; have a strong knowledge of the market, and an in-depth understanding of all sales departments' financial data.

Job Duties Include:

  • Establish long and short-range goals for the sales staff, regarding new and used vehicles (volume & gross).
  • Ensure manufacturer CSI standards are being adhered to and promote applicable surveys to ensure high CSI within the dealership.
  • Ensure sales personnel are up to date on training and certifications and enroll in applicable training as needed. Ensure that dealership is eligible for all manufacturer awards and distinctions based on certifications and training.
  • Coordinate swaps with other dealerships with objective of maintaining best inventory for the dealership. sales log daily.
  • Merchandise new and used inventory effectively, ensuring cleanliness and attractive display of vehicles. Direct lot attendant as need to ensure safe, clean, “ready to sell” vehicles at all times.
  • Work new and used vehicle deals with salespeople; assist with closing deals. Ensure all customers turned over to F&I department. Appraise trade-ins and check deal paperwork to ensure compliance with DMV and finance institution. Thoroughly adhere to proper appraisal process.
  • Communicate manufacturer and/or dealership programs and incentives to sales staff as necessary with objective of increasing new car gross and F&I penetration. Plan and develop advertising for dealership.
  • Ensure positive and growth-oriented culture.
  • Monitor appointments and task lists set by specialist to ensure follow through and completion.
  • Monitor showroom visits ensuring correct processes are triggering with appropriate personnel assigned to files.
  • Desking deals, closing deals and overcoming objections
  • Create action plan and effectively manage sales staff -Identify coaching needs and promote training opportunities
  • Assisting individual salespeople in setting aggressive, yet realistic monthly sales goals
  • Tracking all customers and making sure all leads are logged along with effective follow up for all potential buyers by monitoring a prospecting and sales CRM system
  • Set an example of professionalism through actions and appearance
  • Ensure that all salespeople meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, ups, and closes
  • Work closely with sales team on enforcement of proper selling methods
  • Set objectives for achieving sales and gross profits -Leading daily sales meetings and conducting sales training
  • Reviewing inventory daily to ensure the proper mix of stock for maximum turnover efficiency

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience in a GSM or GM role, or minimum 5 years experience as a sales manager in a dealership of comparable size (50 units per month).
  • Can adapt and embrace change with an internal and external customer centric mindset
  • Act as an advocate for teammates and have a strong commitment to technology advancement
  • Proven track record of successfully meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent customer service, organizational and negotiation/closing skills -Self-motivated, goal-oriented and enthusiastic presence in a team environment
  • Consistent and stable work history
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Professional appearance and work ethic

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
