Job Title: Material Handler Level 1
Compensation: $17.55 - $22.20 (based on qualifications)
Position Summary
This position is responsible for finished goods order picking and inventory management.
Location
Gurnee (Fluids Plant)
Main Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Pick orders for export and domestic shipping.
• Perform inventory move transactions using handheld scanners.
• Deliver picked orders to shipping teams.
• Receive finished goods from manufacturing and receiving and place into the correct finished goods inventory locations in FIFO order.
• Perform cycle counting and other count control tasks in the finished goods warehouse.
• Maintain 5S standards in the finished goods warehouse areas.

Other Responsibilities

• Move to other work centres as needed to support the overall plant operations.

What You Need
Education & Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Proficient math and reading skills required

Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent communication skills.
• Legible penmanship.
• Competency in simple math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Able to work with different levels of employees/customers.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel; PowerPoint and Word.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

• Medium work. Medium work involves exserting no more than 50 pounds of force at a time, with frequent exertion of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, gross/fine manipulation, driving, kneeling, crawling, and climbing may be required. Physical demand requirements are more than those for Light Work.

Health & Safety Concerns

• Chemical hazards - solvents, adhesives, paints, toxic dusts, among other potentially toxic fumes or acids
• Ergonomic risk factors - repetitive actions, such as heavy lifting or the use of tools with significant vibration
