Bread Baker

We are looking for a person passionate for bread baking or at least some sort of baking. If bread is not something that excites you then I'd like to ask you to just skip this application and apply somewhere else!

To be successful in this role, you should have work experience with dough (pizza, bread, pastry) and be comfortable working with ovens and mixers.

Responsibilities

  • Daily prep according to our recipes and standards
  • Clean/ wash kitchen equipment and tools before and after use. We don't have dishwashers so you wash your own tools and clean your equipment at the end of the work day.
  • Mix and Bake: one day you will mix the dough and next day you will bake it. You will alternate with another team member.
  • Daily slicing and packaging of bread. This work is typically done at the end of the day and with a team member.
  • Sweep work area at the end of the shift. Maintain cleanliness throughout bakery as needed.
  • We have a pick-up window so you may need to assist customers from time to time.

Skills

  • Excitement for sourdough bread making
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, ovens, and other tools
  • Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
  • Ability to perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction and multiplication)
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (bag of flour) on a regular basis
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
  • Certification from a culinary school is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
