Job Brief:

Doherty Steel is searching for an experienced Detailer to translate design drawings and specifications into complete and accurate shop and erection drawings and direct the fabrication and erection of miscellaneous and structural components.

Detailer Responsibilities:

· Provide complete and accurate shop and erection drawings that comply with AISC and IBC codes and standards.

· Review design drawings and identify problem areas prior to the production of drawings.

· The investigation of problem areas that may arise during the production of drawings.

· Collaborate with design team members, other trades, and vendors to ensure the needs of the project are met.

Requirements:

• 5-years’ experience with CAD/conventional drafting preferably in structural steel fabrication/erection. SDS/2 and/or Tekla a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
• The understanding of engineering principles, shop fabrication, and field construction practices.
• Be able to read and comprehend technical drawings and specifications.
• Previous experience in the Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection Industry preferred.
