The role requires effective collaboration with Business and Technology partners within Global Commercial Services and other American Express teams. Additionally, the effective candidate will be able to lead and influence through ambiguity, is passionate about transforming our business and delivering solutions through emerging technologies within a matrixed organization.The primary role for this Business Solutions Architect is to understand the current landscape of GCS technologies/platforms, including APIs and Enterprise automation capabilities which can be stitched together so solve business problems. They will be integral to the Product Development Lifecycle, working alongside fellow product managers, product owners, and technology teams. They will serve to understand automation feasibility and emerging technologies to explore for consideration to add to our inventory. This role will require detailed planning and focused execution to produce strategic solutions, including High-Level Architecture diagrams and deliver proof of concepts for new automation capabilities.Key Responsibilities:Lead solution design and technology assessment of automation solutions aligned to the strategy using process excellence, Robotic Process Automation, BPM and other AI solutions.Provide design and architecture leadership to product development teams to deliver scalable solutions using best in class Artificial Intelligence, Automation and integration capabilities.Lead innovation and Proof of Concept execution by conceiving foundational capabilities that will deliver cost savings and speed to market reduction.Engage with technology partners in understanding business roadmaps, identifying technology projects and building program blueprints.Demonstrate knowledge on scaled agile methodology to ensure alignment to standards for project delivery.Be aware of current and future market and technology developments inside and outside of the Intelligent Automation space through offerings, white papers, blogs, upskilling and learning opportunities.Creating and maintaining solution documentation, including architectural diagramsProblem solving issues that arise during development, collaborating with customers to resolve, and providing timely responses and solutions as requiredServing as liaison when developing Proof of Concepts for end users and third-party vendors, creating user stories and translating business requests into technical requirements for the development teamEnvisioning and defining the future state of Commercial process automation products and services, focusing on deployments that deliver strong business valueOptimizing delivery by using the suite of tools available including bringing to bear previous automations developed and housed in the ACE library or within the Enterprise.Leading various types of interviews, meetings or workshops with business unit subject matter experts to define and design process improvement and automation solutions.May require direct people leadership of 1-2 colleagues/contractorsMinimum Qualifications:The successful candidate will have experience in developing solution strategies, with knowledge of each of the intelligent automation capabilities available in the industryTrack record in the successful delivery and support of improving existing processes using automation.Understanding of workflow-based logic, and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solutionDemonstrated ability to listen and clarify customer objectives to translate their needs into a clear and feasible plan for resolving their business issueCuriosityPassion (willingness to work hard) to find creative ways to help our customers succeedStrong written and verbal communication skills with comfort work with and presenting to all levels of the organizationProactive and collaborative work styleProven project leadership and time management skillsPeople leadership experienceProficiency with Excel and other Office applicationsBachelors degree or equivalent in related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience with robotics a plus.Experience in Commercial and FinTech space is a plus.Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
