Join us for an exciting opportunity in the Eligibility Marketing Technology team within American Express Technologies. This team is responsible for building platforms to support marketing campaigns processes,audience selection and activation at American Express.

American Express seeks an Engineer to be part of an exciting and fast-paced entrepreneurial team focused on delivering the next generation marketing tech capabilities, innovative R&D products, lead the tool chain automation for continuous build and deployment as well building solutions for Next-gen BigData platform. Function as a core member of an Agile team driving user story analysis and elaboration, design, and development of software applications. Work on specific platforms and products or as part of a dynamic resource pool assigned to projects based on demand and business priority.

Responsibilities:

  • As a part of our team, you will be developing innovative, high quality, and robust operational engineering capabilities.
  • Develop software in our technology stack which is constantly evolving but currently includes Big data, Java/Spark/Scala and RESTful APIs
  • Work with Business partners and stakeholders to understand functional requirements, architecture dependencies, and business capability roadmaps.
  • Create technical solution designs to meet business requirements.
  • Taking your place as a core member of an Agile team driving the latest development practices
  • Identify and drive reengineering opportunities, and opportunities for adopting new technologies and methods.
  • Suggest and recommend solution architecture to resolve business problems.
  • Perform peer code review and participate in technical discussions with the team on the best solutions possible

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of hands-on Software Development experience in Big data, Spark related technologies
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong expertise in SQL and database theory, and data analytics
  • Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills and design patterns.
  • Strong CI/CD and testing practices.
  • Good knowledge and experience with configuration management tools like GitHub.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving proficiency.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork.
  • Understanding of various SDLC methodologies, particularly Agile.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scala hands-on development
  • Proven end-to-end application development and deployment.
  • Open-minded and passionate about learning new technologies.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and leverage them to their optimal potential

 

 

Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $135,000.00 annually bonus benefits
