Surgery Scheduler

Specialty medical practice with multiple locations in Knoxville seeks a Full-Time Surgery Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate would be a team player who carries out assigned tasks to help our providers deliver exceptional medical care to our patients.

Daily tasks include:

· Verification of patient’s insurance eligibility and surgical benefits.

· Pre-certification of surgical procedures with appropriate CPT and diagnosis code according to carriers’ guidelines.

· Informing patients of their cost-share for scheduled services.

· Facilitating collection of patient’s financial responsibility.

· Timely communication with insurance carriers, patients, facilities, and providers.

Ideal candidate must:

· Possess strong knowledge of the insurance eligibility and benefit determination process.

· Effectively and professionally communicate with patients, physicians, co-workers and hospital staff, as well as insurance carriers.

· Possess the ability to coordinate multiple time-sensitive task in detail.

· Possess the initiative and drive to take a project from its inception to a successful conclusion.

· Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

· Possess a working knowledge of modern office procedures and office equipment, including strong computer skills and typing ability.

· Possess the ability to remain focused and on task in a busy work environment.

· Podiatry experience is a plus

Job Description

• Job: Full-time
• Working hours: Monday - Thursday 9 AM – 5 PM, Friday 9AM-1PM (36 hours per week)
• Will be responsible for oversight of patient scheduling

Job Requirements

• Highly developed leadership, personnel and communication skills
• One (1) year of prior surgery scheduling experience
