About The Role
DNV's Energy Systems Energy Management group is seeking an Senior Energy Efficiency Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate for this position will be a Senior Energy Engineer in Energy Efficiency Programs.
This position will be based out of our DNV office in Detroit, Michigan, offering a hybrid schedule of an average three (3) days in the office and two (2) days working remotely.
What You'll Do

  • Perform customer focused, site-specific engineering analysis and evaluation of energy efficiency opportunities involving commercial/industrial lighting, HVAC, and process equipment.
  • Review and verify technical merits of business customer energy efficiency applications, including calculation of energy savings and verification of equipment specifications. Conduct customer site inspections to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment.
  • Interact with customers to address questions or concerns about installed equipment or programmatic information.
  • Conduct on-site energy assessments and analyze the energy performance of commercial buildings to enable cost-effective energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Develop requests for proposal to support energy efficient projects.
  • Create program presentations about energy service offerings. Nurture and develop a team of junior engineers and subcontractors and provide guidance on how to conduct energy and demand assessments of buildings and processes.

What is Required

  • Bachelor's Degree is required in Energy Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field of study.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience as an Energy Engineer, Energy Engineer Intern or related roles.
  • Experience with End-use metering instrumentation
  • Experience with Lighting, motors, and HVAC systems
  • Experience with Energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Experience with Energy auditing ASHRAE Levels 1,2, and 3
