Description

Position Overview:

The Product Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling complete strut assemblies in accordance to daily, weekly and monthly quality and production standards. 

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications and assemble component parts.
  • Position or align components to facilitate assembly.
  • Fasten components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, power tools, or other equipment as needed.
  • Perform quality checks on products and parts.
  • Ensure work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment and tools are safe to operate.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting and the carrying out of verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform activities requiring continuous mental and visual attention over sustained periods. 
  • Continuous mental and visual attention on fast paced repetitive work over sustained periods. 
  • Requires the use of some judgment and the making of minor decisions to comply with instructions, standard operating procedures, methods or practices.
  • Light physical effort consisting of:

1. Lifting or moving material over 5 pounds and up to 15 pounds over 40% of the time. 

2. Standing, walking for sustained periods.

3. Continuous pushing, pulling and bending required.

  • Ability to work in an environment where a number of elements including dust, heat, cold, noise, vibration, oil, etc. are present.

Education and Work/ Skill Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Over 3 years and up to 5 years previous qualifying experience on related work, either within the organization or outside. required to attain quality and quantity performance standards.

Other:

  • Incumbent work hours/schedule and/or shift are subject to change based on business needs and Management discretion
  • Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates
  • Company has a “Zero Tolerance” policy regarding insubordination and/or refusal to carry out work as directed. This can result in immediate separation of employment
  • Complies with Dress Code of Business Casual Attire 

Language Skills: Ability to read and write in English. Ability to effectively articulate and present information and respond to questions from Management in a professional manner.
