DKS ASSOCIATES is Hiring a Remote Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Practice Leader

As the Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Practice Leader you will be a member of the DKS leadership team and will work closely with both local and cross-office teams to win and deliver work in our TSMO practice. We help our clients plan, design, implement, and operate technology that supports multimodal transportation projects. The ideal candidate is thought leader and an expert in the development and implementation of an integrated set of strategies to ensure the various transportation modes and facilities work together and perform better while improving safety and advancing equity in our communities through projects, actions, and our relationships.
This position will focus on orchestrating the planning for the implementation of multimodal and intermodal, cross-jurisdictional systems, services and projects. Familiarity with environmental justice, safety, design, modeling, data analytics, and operations is beneficial. We are looking for candidates who are thought leaders and enjoy leading, innovating, and collaborating to help ensure DKS is responsive, proactive, predictive and ready for a fast-changing future in both the urban and rural setting.

What will you be doing?
  • Developing new client relationships for DKS and building on current client relationships, including partnerships with other firms
  • Win and manage a variety of TSMO projects and programs that you are passionate about
  • Providing leadership team with insight on market trends and growth opportunities
  • Assuring client satisfaction through implementation of our Client Experience (CX) and QC/QA initiatives
  • Leading the efforts to develop local, regional, or statewide TSMO/smart region plans
  • Leading the efforts to assist clients with innovative project procurement, such as grant writing and delivery approaches
  • Leading the efforts to strategize and plan for TSMO initiatives
  • Sharing in the efforts to develop and maintain relationships within the transportation technology industry (e.g., agencies, auto manufacturers, third party data providers/software developers, transit)
  • Sharing in the efforts to actively participate in regional, state, or national committees or working groups aimed at advancing the state of the practice within transportation systems management and operations
  • Leading the efforts to bring innovation and creativity to expanding equity and sustainability in our projects and engagements
  • Defining goals, including an annual sales pipeline, for DKS’ TSMO Practice and developing methods to accomplish them
  • Coordinating with business development leaders throughout the company
  • Leading the efforts to train, mentor, and coach DKS employees

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Urban Planning or similar field (required)
  • Master’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience desired
  • 15 years of experience in Transportation Industry, particularly in application of technologies
  • Active participation in a professional organization (e.g., ITS America, National Operations Center of Excellence, TRB) desired
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management experience on a variety of small to large sized projects, including projects with multiple subconsultants
  • Comfort with public speaking, client meetings, and public meetings
  • Leadership experience with the interest to coach, counsel, and influence others
  • Commitment to professional growth to support DKS core values

Salary Range:
Senior Project Manager: $162,900 - $206,200 per year
