INVESTIGATOR I- NEW HAVEN G.A.#23

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Public Defender Investigator I- New Haven G.A.#23 courthouse. Applicants for this position will work under an Investigator of higher grade, responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing clients to determine eligibility for public defender services; locating and interviewing potential witnesses; photographing crime scenes and other relevant locations; preparing charts and diagrams; acting as liaison with forensic witnesses; conferring with legal staff regarding investigations; preparing reports of investigations; transporting clients to proceedings; serving subpoenas; and testifying in courtroom proceedings. Computer and database literacy also preferred.

Qualifications: two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or criminal investigation or in related criminal investigative work; or a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field.

Special Requirements: Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and a vehicle available for daily use.

Starting Salary: $64,695.00 annum with full State benefits.
