Divine Savior Holy Angels High School is Hiring a Maintenance Mechanic - Outdoors Near Milwaukee, WI

Description

Maintains the school grounds in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures the grounds of DSHA are maintained, including general yard and gardening work, watering and marking the athletic fields, and primary responsibility for snow removal. Indoor maintenance work will also be assigned as needed, based on staffing, workload, and weather considerations. 

Salary Range

Approx. $16-$22/hour based on experience; competitive benefits package.

Job Start-End Date

Starting Spring 2024 and ongoing (Hours: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., earlier if it snows)

Requirements

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Ensures the grounds of DSHA are maintained to include: Maintain grounds around facility, including grass cutting, trimming, weeding and maintenance of all other plantings; Maintain and prepare athletic field and practice areas; Snow removal/salting as needed throughout the property, to include all sidewalks, stairwells, entrances and other areas not cleared by plowing company.
  2. Maintain all grounds-related equipment and systems.
  3. Minor plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
  4. Painting, minor repairs and cleaning as assigned.
  5. Assist with set-up as needed for special events.
  6. Complete other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Position requires a high school diploma or a GED and one to three years of experience in a building and grounds maintenance role.

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Effective oral communication skills are essential. Knowledge of OSHA regulations is required. Must be able to operate power tools and essential maintenance equipment. Must have the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks at the same time. PC experience and the ability to use email is required. Incumbent must be able to prioritize tasks. Must be able to complete many tasks with differing deadlines. Incumbent will be on call for emergencies as necessary. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. Incumbent should be able to work effectively with diverse populations. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license is required, and insurability is required.

Physical Demands

No protective clothing or accessories is required on a regular basis; however, occasionally, safety glasses and ear plugs are required. Uniforms are required.The employee must occasionally lift to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work takes place primarily outside where there is exposure to machinery and outside elements with moderate noise. Ability to meet a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends and available on-call for emergencies by telephone and/or cell phone.
