CNC Programmer/Operator Job Responsibilities:

• With training and aptitude, produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating all CNC mills and turning centers, while maintaining quality/safety standards, keeping records and performing required machine maintenance.
• Assists in the manufacturing of machined parts by working with other team members on projects, monitoring progress, and delivering high tolerance products on-time and according to estimate, models/drawings and customer expectations.

CNC Programmer/Operator Job Duties:

• Hands-on MasterCam programming and machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, material specifications, and GD&T callouts. Programs current CNC mills and new DMG NLX 2500 turning center by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool heights, offsets, cutter compensation, and proving out part programs.
• Programming for multi-axis on various Vertical mills, and DMG Mori NLX 2500 Turning center.
• Selection and implementation of current and future cutting tool technology and developing a department wide library of cutting tools.
• Assisting in the selection, training, and bringing new equipment online in a rapidly growing business in multiple industry sectors.
• Develop and execute productivity plans for increasing measurable throughput.
• Responsible for developing and implementing a system for consistency in programming in MasterCam and tracking programs for ongoing projects.
• Timely record keeping and organized project skills in the CNC area.
• Quality adherence to ISO/ AS9100D and maintaining ITAR standards.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; recommending needed repairs.
• Program and run multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
• Utilize multiple work holding setups to increase machine uptime and measurable lights out machining.
• Work with lead tool makers to provide machined components accurately, efficiently and in time to maintain overall project timing.

CNC Programmer/Operator Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years metal machining/CNC experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of fabricating automation and assembly fixtures, gauges, components and high-tolerance machining and general toolmaking.
• Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally using both oral and written means.
• Willing to be part of a positive, team-oriented approach, to solving problems in a self-directed work environment.
• Experience working in ISO/AS9100D-certified environment a plus
• Attention to detail and good judgment
