The Programmer works from blueprints, sketches, work orders and verbal instructions to program, set up and operate various manual and CNC machine tools and production cells so that we can machine a wide variety of component parts of above average to complex design. The Programmer performs advanced setup operations and programs prove outs. This position requires proficiency with programming, setting up and operating turning centers, VMCs and HMCs as well a broad knowledge of machining techniques, processes, and programming methods. A current, strong working knowledge of Mastercam is essential as a programmer at Aries.

Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:

• Create tool path for various machine tools using the latest version of Mastercam. (2024)
• Focus on efficiency and optimized cycle times in a short production environment.
• Work from solid models and ability to create basic 2D geometry to assist in programming.
• Must be able to work independently from verbal and written instructions.
• Will create clear and precise setup instructions for setups.
• Design and program fixturing when needed.
• Works directly with engineering and management.

Required Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of tooling and associated capabilities.
• Background with Solid Works a plus but not necessary.
• Horizontal, 5 axis and 3 2 experience a big plus.
• Strong attention to detail with awareness of tight tolerances ( /- .0005) to compare geometry to written dimensions.
• Solid background in GD&T. Willing to train if needed.

Required Experience and Education:

• Minimum of (3) years Mastercam experience.
• At least (5) years in a manufacturing environment.
• Broad knowledge of machining techniques and practices.
• Strong mathematical skills.

Physical Requirements:

• The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, or stand for lengthy periods of time.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Keen awareness of surroundings always.
