District Office is Hiring an OFFICE ASSISTANT - DISTRICT OFFICE (#191) Near Mc Henry, IL

Terms of Employment:

  • Start Date: Immediately
  • Responsible to: Assistant Superintendent or designee

  • Location: District Office

  • Calendar: Year-Round Employee - 261 days

  • Daily Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30pm

  • Hours Per Day: 8.0 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch

  • Hourly Rate: $13.01
  • Benefits: Eligible for medical benefits and paid leave. IMRF participation is required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous secretarial experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office and Google Docs experience with strong computer skills 
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and adaptability to a changing work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under minimum supervision with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good attendance
  • Candidate must respect the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Work with staff, students, parents, and the general public in a professional and appropriate manner

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices.
  • Answer, screen, and make phone calls as needed. 
  • Monitor the office door.
  • Greet and assist visitors, staff, and/or students as needed.
  • Receive, distribute, organize, file, etc documents received in the office.
  • Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, productive, and efficiently operating office
  • Assist with special office projects.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable about the office activities. 
  • Organize and post announcements, signs, and/or communications.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
