Business Operations is the glue of DE&E Technology, with a persistent focus on connecting all the pieces of the business. All the components that make up the organization – engineering, product, design, operations, support and more – come together and move the business forward with oversight, effective prioritization, and guidance. This team synthesizes information from across the business to ensure leaders are armed with all the necessary data before making strategic and financial decisions. From forecasting, funding, tracking, and reporting on projects, to ways of working, and resource management, Business Operations has transparency and input into all aspects of the team.

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our Technical Program Management team. As a Technical Project Manager you’ll be responsible for partnering with Program and Engineering managers who deliver The Walt Disney Company’s world class identity experience. You’ll also function as an interface between Product and other Engineering teams, participating in coordination, alignment, road mapping, and the overall seamless delivery of best-in-class consumer applications.

  • You build strong relationships with your engineering and program team partners and promote synergy and transparent communication among them

  • You display initiative and take a proactive approach at finding ways to remove barriers to move a project forward

  • You are able to stay focused under pressure, prioritizing multiple work streams in a deadline driven environment

  • You are proactive in seeking and implementing improvements in our processes

  • You have excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of management

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing a roadmap for the team and keeping it in line with the priorities defined by Product

  • Execute on several deliverables concurrently with remote team members while balancing competing priorities

  • Facilitate and solidify project processes by creating, managing, and updating documentation

  • Keep stakeholders informed of day-to-day project statuses, updates, and risks

  • Cultivate relationships across engineering, product and program teams while serving directly as the end-to-end liaison

  • Identify solution paths for competing requirements while managing stakeholder preferences

  • Continually communicate risks to all stakeholders, and facilitate discussions to help remove blockers

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years experience as a Technical Project Manager managing large scale projects

  • Demonstrated ability with Agile, Kanban and Waterfall project management

  • Have technical literacy in order to be able to follow technical discussions and absorb technical documentation

  • Experience working with product and design and other stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives, and engage with engineering teams to drive deliverables forward.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Tools experience including Jira, Confluence, Slack, Airtable, Miro and Google suite

The hiring range for this position in California and Washington is $102,500 - $137,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
