Position Summary:

The Assistant Site Director reports directly to the Site Director and collaborates closely with them, working hand in hand to implement and uphold the After School Program's guidelines. This collaborative relationship involves receiving guidance from the Site Director and jointly contributing to the planning, organization, and execution of a well-structured program that aligns with Discover After School's mission and core values. The Assistant Site Director plays a pivotal role in maintaining effective communication channels and ensuring the overall success and quality of the program under the guidance and support of the Site Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent service to all students, families, co-workers, and school administration.
• Maintain accurate records pertaining to licensing requirements, staff/child health and safety.
• Supervises/schedules staff to ensure adequate supervision of children and effective implementation of scheduled activities.

• Meet the physical, emotional and educational needs of the children in their care.
• Work in a team environment, build and maintain healthy, cooperative relationships.
• Communicate positively and effectively.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures both organizationally and departmentally.
• Model positive behavior and educate children in a manner which contributes to mature and responsible behavior.
• Implement the curriculum and schedule provided on a daily basis and provide feedback to such on a weekly basis.

Qualifications:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening.
• Satisfactory Drug Screening.
• High School Diploma.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certified can be provided by Discover After School.
• 45 Hours of DCF Child Care Training.
• Complete all Discover After School and governmentally required training in the required time-frame.
• Six months' experience in a supervisory position.

Skills:

• Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills in English is required.
• Bilingual, with proficiency in both English and Spanish is a plus. 
• Ability to effectively work with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity. 
• Willingness to learn.

• Oversee and participate in the cleaning and maintaining of facilities, equipment, and all areas used.
• Be knowledgeable and adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as needed or requested.

Monday - Friday

Morning Care - 6:45AM - 9:00AM

After Care - 2:00PM - 6:00PM

Pay: $16 per hour

*All positions are part time with the possibility for full time hours*
