Position: Sr Construction Portfolio / Project Manager

Location: Chicago, IL with up to 50% Travel to NY, Arizona, Michigan

I am looking for a Construction Portfolio Manager for a Manufacturing greenfield project. This is a highly visible role that will be overseeing 12 Engineering work streams that fall under the PMO. In this role you will set project objectives, track milestones, report project status, oversee budget, mitigate risk, allocate resources, and eventually Change Management.

Will be working with the following teams and overseeing budget for each.

• Construction of the facility and all the civil / fitting out of the building
• Wastewater Treatment
• Internal Facilities Engineering team.
• Packaging Equipment team
• Process Operations Engineering Team
• Automated Warehouse management
• Information Technology
• Operations Technology
• External Utilities

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10 years’ experience leading Project/Program Management Activities in highly regulated CPG Greenfield projects
• A Bachelor of Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and other certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are an advantage.
• Project Management methodologies, tools, and techniques. Have the business acumen and a deep understanding of business objectives and the ability to align project initiatives with overall business strategy.
• Willingness to stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in both project management and manufacturing/operations.
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, and best practices.
• Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles – for optimization.
• Operational - supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, quality management, and production planning.
• Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, setting project objectives, and driving results.
• Analysis of complex situations, identifying the Root Cause Analysis, and develop solutions.
• Experience managing and leading organizational change initiatives.
• Manufacturing and operations, such as equipment, technology, automation, and industry-specific regulations or standards.
• Familiar with Permitting processes, external stakeholder management and public relations.
• Regulatory compliance as it relates to a greenfield manufacturing site building.
