Axiom Community of Recovery is Hiring a Program Director Near Phoenix, AZ

Description:

Axiom Community of Recovery, located in Phoenix, is looking for an experienced individual to lead our nonprofit Recovery Community Organization. Our mission is to transform the lives of individuals and families struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in Maricopa County, Arizona. We do this by providing evidence-based peer recovery support services, substance use disorder treatment, advocacy and educational opportunities, sober social activities and affordable, safe recovery housing. We are passionate about empowering our recovery community members to know that recovery is possible and their stories have the power to create positive and long-lasting change for themselves and others.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervision of non-profit staff and volunteers.
  • Develop program infrastructure and project management.
  • Responsible for oversight of programs.
  • Prepare and provide required reports to project partners.
  • Prepare and provide required reports to state government to promote funding for recovery.
  • Represent organization to the community and media and build partnerships.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal team members and with community partners.
  • Build community partnerships and lead community partner meetings.
  • Work in close collaboration with community partners to better meet patient needs.
  • Always present a positive face and voice of recovery to the community.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years’ experience in substance use treatment and/or co-occurring treatment.
  • At least 2 years’ management experience supervising a team of at least four individuals.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of diverse populations.
  • Demonstrate excellence in speaking skills.
  • Demonstrate excellence in written and oral communication skills.
  • Efficient in working with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and SAMHSA best practices.
  • Cross-cultured skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group setting.
  • Willing to travel as determined by compliance to grant/project guidelines.
  • Experience with grant writing, or strong writing skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Valid AZ driver’s license.
  • Non-profit experience preferred.
  • Valid fingerprint clearance card (or ability to obtain one).
  • Experience in long-term recovery preferred, but not required.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelors’ degree preferred, but not required.
