CDS in Texas is seeking an experienced Service Advisor Manager.

Service Advisor Manager


Consumer Directed Services in Texas, Inc. is an affiliate of Disability Services of the Southwest. CDS in Texas is a payroll processing firm contracted by HHSC and various insurance companies, to process payroll for individuals self-directing their care.

Position Summary: Under general supervision of Director, the Service Advisor Manager assists in ensuring the Service Advisors (SA) complete their responsibilities and maintains positive relationships and open communication with clients, client families, case managers, vendors, and all other business representatives. The Service Advisor Manager also provides supports to clients in maintaining their budgets, following CDS rules and identifies areas needing improvement. The Service Advisor Department’s main function is to ensure our CDS clients are successful in managing their budget and are utilizing the authorized services appropriately.

Tasks:

  • Provide support to the Director in addition to monitoring training and supervise service advisor and admin staff
  • Assist in developing complex client annual budgets and budget changes which may include requesting documents from case managers and case workers
  • Support utilization process, as necessary, responding to payroll dept. on special payroll items and ensuring the SAs advise payroll staff of any clients that require monitoring
  • Monitor the recording of client expenses from payroll reports
  • Ensure SAs review client budgets at payroll, and alert when clients are non-compliant
  • Monitor reporting and auditing deadlines, working with Director as necessary, to ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist in responding to client requests and questions, seeking assistance from other CDS dept.’s and supervisors as needed
  • Oversee that all processes established for Corrective Action Plans, changes in client status, audits and reconciliations, and transfer and/or discharge procedures, Time Entry System, and any other SA Department procedures are being followed
  • Maintain positive relationships and open communication with clients, client families, case managers, vendors, coworkers, and all other business representatives
  • Observe confidentiality policies at all times
  • Comply with federal, state, & company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Ensure Task Assignments are cleared

Skills/Attributes:

  • Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter, able to handle a large volume of complex daily activities, in a fast-paced environment and under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to be a team leader and assist in supervision and training of staff
  • Willingness to work with health care professionals, clients, families, and the general public
  • Written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate effectively Must be able to read, write and comprehend English; must be able to communicate efficiently in English

Experience and Education:

  • Must be at least 18 year of age
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Three (3) year of experience in the healthcare field highly desired
  • Some experience as a manager preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate competence with computer applications such as MS Word and Excel and have the ability to readily learn agency specific software
  • Must be able to type 35 wpm with 80% accuracy and 80% accuracy in Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work up to a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with words, hand(s) or arm(s); for example, using the keyboard
  • Communication skills using the spoken word
  • Ability to see within normal parameters
  • Ability to hear within normal range
  • Ability to move about
