DirtWorks Drainage is Hiring a Concrete Foreman Near Louisville, OH

The Concrete Foreman is responsible for coordinating and overseeing multiple teams of concrete construction workers and the success of concrete projects. This includes directing the activities of workers and assisting crews when needed on concrete construction sites, coordinating tasks between various personnel, ensuring all concrete construction is conducted by established safety guidelines, and maintaining the concrete construction sites during the concrete construction process while understanding and striving to meet the company’s strategic goals, mission, values, and beliefs. The Concrete Foreman will work under the general supervision of the COO of TerraWorks, LLC and work cooperatively with the Operations and Project Management Teams.
DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Concrete Foreman Initiatives:
  • Initiate and/or perform necessary steps toward the kickoff process of a project such as pre -bid meetings, project permits, creating a construction schedule based on outage schedules, permitting holds, provisions, and scope clarification 
  • Source and schedule the necessary equipment, material, and manpower per bid specifications to begin and maintain ongoing projects
  • Coordinate tasks and scheduling of employees, subcontractors and vendors to ensure that the project is within scope, schedule and approved budget
  • Complete daily paperwork associated with daily project tracking, equipment, procurement, employee timesheets, equipment damages and vehicle check sheets with accuracy
  • Initiate change of scope requests along with proper documentation associated with change orders. Make adjustments to task and material tracking associated with c/o requests and execution
  • Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any issues or risks
  • Manage and guide the use of tooling, machinery and equipment 
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
  • Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
  • Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.
  • Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects
  • Report to COO and respective project managers on regular intervals, including but not limited to project progress, emergent risks or issues, construction delays or adjustments, in-service date changes and review of Schedule vs. Budget
  • Ensure that the project is completed to the required standards and that all necessary documentation is in place for closeout

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
  • Minimum (3) years as a Concrete Foreman 
  • OSHA Safety Certificate
  • Project management and budgeting experience
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of construction practices and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of project requirements including interpretation of scope documents, blueprints, permits, schedules, provisions, bid documents, restrictions and materials
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to effectively utilize the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be willing to travel within a multi-state area
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable 
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must pass an acceptable background check
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities to allow communication in person as well as via telephone and digital meetings.
