- Manage credit, cash, and check transactions with customers.
- Operate scanners and cash registers in an efficient manner.
- Scan the selected items and ensure accurate quantity and pricing.
- Collect payments, return change, issue receipts, process refunds and answer customer inquiries.
- Perform basic arithmetic functions and return the appropriate change.
- Bag items purchased carefully.
- Honor coupons and discount codes.
- Ensure that refunds and exchanges go smoothly and quickly.
- Attend to customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide information on policies.
- Guide customers and recommend items with relevant information.
- Remember the product locations in the store to guide customers and make recommendations.
- Deal pleasantly with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure that the gift shop area is always orderly and clean.
- Restock items in the gift shop.
- Ensure that the cash drawer is accurate and report any discrepancies to the supervisor or manager at the end of the shift.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Previous work experience as a cashier or in customer service.
- Acquaintance with the usage of electronic devices like POS and cash registers.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions responsibly and accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills, with courteous and friendly approach to attend to customer inquiries and resolve complaints.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
