Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church (TMC) at 2212 Spruce Street in Philadelphia seeks a part-time Director of Music Ministry. TMC is a small but vibrant worshiping community with a flexible worship & performance space boasting excellent acoustics, a high-quality Allen Electronic Organ with moveable console and a Falcone concert grand piano. Reporting to the Rector, the Director will generally lead the preparation and presentation of music for one service per week including selecting music, preparing organ and piano anthems and accompaniment, preparing a small choir of both volunteer and paid singers and selecting and managing a small cadre of professional musicians. The congregation has articulated a strong desire for both listening to and participating in music at services. Clergy, choir members and congregation all express interest in a variety of musical styles and see music as a way of promoting understanding and demonstrating inclusivity. Familiarity with a broad range of Episcopal liturgical settings is desired. Finally, the successful candidate will be collaborative and seek to become an integral part of the TMC community.
