OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The Diocese of Bridgeport is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Marketing Director to spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive digital marketing and communications strategies. This role encompasses a broad spectrum, including project management of website and content creation, digital media buying, content optimization, and a deep understanding of Catholic youth to accurately market initiatives. It is pivotal in integrating all diocesan digital communications, harmonizing content and formation to build engaging platforms that guide individuals on their faith journey. The primary goal is to deliver a coordinated and robust set of programs and services, empowering youth, evangelizing through social media, and highlighting cultural diversity and apostolates through effective communication. The Director will work collaboratively with ministries, diocesan departments, and parishes to fortify the digital presence and maintain messaging consistency. This position also involves providing support for special events, development efforts, and promotional needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, aligning with the Diocese's and Center’s mission to empower youth and young adults, evangelize through social media, and showcase cultural diversity. Integrate internal communication strategies to enhance coherence and effectiveness.
· Oversee and enhance all digital marketing and communication channels, including websites, blogs, email communication, and social media platforms, ensuring consistency and audience engagement both externally and internally.
· Design and execute successful digital communication campaigns using advanced tools and techniques, including SEO/SEM, content management systems, and social media analytics. Emphasize creating content that resonates with both external and internal audiences.
· Utilize Google Analytics and other analytical tools to measure and report on campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to strategies, inclusive of internal communication effectiveness.
· Identify and curate compelling digital content, including videos and podcasts, by sourcing from existing material and collaborating with key influencers. Edit content as needed to ensure alignment with the mission and make it more attractive for web and social properties. Engage diverse audiences externally and foster a strong sense of community and information sharing internally.
· Collaborate with various departments, parishes, and partners to ensure a cohesive and effective digital marketing/communication approach, while also facilitating strong internal communications and information flow within the Diocese.
· Lead project management efforts for digital marketing/communication initiatives, including spearheading the web design effort to ensure a user-friendly and visually appealing online experience for both external visitors and internal staff.
· Experience buying digital media across social channels, websites, and SEM, ensuring effective placement, and maximizing reach for targeted campaigns.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
· Active Catholic with a profound understanding of Church teachings.
· Minimum of five to seven years of experience in digital marketing, showcasing a proven track record in designing and implementing successful digital marketing/communication campaigns, with an emphasis on project management of website creation.
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· Leadership in Google Analytics and digital marketing tools.
· Proven ability to identify key influencers aligned with the mission, collaborating with them to produce impactful content for effective digital marketing campaigns.
· Strong understanding of current digital marketing channels, innovative online marketing tools, and best practices, applicable to both external and internal communication.
· Proficiency in content identification and curation skills, including video/media production, editing, and audio production tailored for diverse audiences.
· Familiarity with web design principles and best practices, ensuring effective communication and user experience for internal and external stakeholders.
· Exceptional analytical and project management skills, with a focus on both external marketing campaigns and internal communication initiatives.
· Strong collaborative, communication, and writing skills, with the ability to effectively work in team environments and manage internal communications.
· Commitment to the mission and values of the Diocese of Bridgeport.
· Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
