Positions employed in the school help to extend the ministry of the principal in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the principal in the performance of the principal's ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church. This position reports to the president.
Job Summary
As a Corporate Internship Program (CIP) team member, this position will interact with students, school personnel, and business leaders to execute the transformative Corporate Internship Program model alongside other CIP staff. The primary duties of this role include teaching students job skills through training and classes, managing the relationships between the school and its job partners, and assisting in coordinating student training and professional development.
Purpose: In this role, the CIP Coordinator, Student Training & Development, will create content and learning experiences for various audiences using various delivery methods and teaching strategies. You will be responsible for managing the implementation of training projects and key programs, providing reporting and analytics support for the CIP team regarding student grading and timecards, and providing oversight and support for various training courses, classes, and programs. You will collaborate with subject matter experts to create and develop professional development content linked to business class requirements and aligned with curriculum expectations.
Essential Duties
  • Program Development: Develop and coordinate the CIP curriculum, building on established fundamentals while creating new programs for CIP professional development, senior capstone projects, and summer training programs for incoming freshmen and transfer students. This includes supporting volunteers who lead sessions.
  • Student Professional Development: Teach CIP curriculum, content, and lessons for each grade level during designated times, facilitate learning experiences in conjunction with the academic team, and lead CIP professional development classes each semester and during the summer as part of the summer training program. Support CIP Operations with the planning, implementing, and executing professional development programs as needed.
  • Student Support: Assist in the formation of student teams and job assignments based on student and sponsor requests and interests, student skills and personality assessments, sponsor job descriptions, and student's previous performance to ensure successful jobsite placement; cultivate and strengthen corporate partner/student relationships as well as; collect, review, record, and follow-up on student worker time cards and performance reviews, maintain Salesforce database of students and partners, and assist in technology support for remote student workers. Coordinates transportation with the transportation director.
  • Student Training: Train student workers and prepare them for job placements; support the planning and execution of training activities for non-working students as necessary; assist with managing morning check-in, including daily dress code and attendance checks, daily announcements, and bus dismissal; and address/enforce all school policies, with an emphasis on dress code, attendance, and overall professionalism.
  • Corporate Partner Relations: Provide feedback on planning for training needs of current supervisors and suggest ongoing supports to enable their effective management of students and make their program participation sustainable; coach supervisors on how to best maximize the efficiency of student workers (conducting regular phone calls, emails, site visits, and database updates - Salesforce, etc.); assist students in scheduling make-up days, holiday workdays, and overseeing the collection of forms and recording of data associated with these days.
  • Relationship Building: Build collaborative partnerships with the Academic Team, SJD staff, and subject matter experts to proactively identify development needs to support and enhance student performance; build strong relationships with students via being a model of conduct and offering guidance as they are introduced to the corporate work world, as well as building relationships with the professionals at various workplaces to ensure success, and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned caseload, and for parents/guardians regarding their student's work performance and progress.

  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft & G-Suite database software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, electronic mail software, and presentation software. Familiarity with Salesforce or another customer relationship management software.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, leadership, or related field
Experience:
  • Experience working in education or business setting, particularly with high school students in an urban or Catholic school setting
Certifications and Training:
  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
