BLR has an immediate opening for a full-time College and Career Advisor.
The advisor fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by assisting the faculty and administration in the development of a comprehensive guidance program serving high school students in discerning a professional path of life and preparing for and applying for colleges matching both professional and faith aspirations.
The advisor is supported by Ablaze ministry team in areas that involve faith and by licensed professional social / emotional counselors when such support is recommended.
The College and Career Advisor reports to and is evaluated by the high school principal.
Minimum Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's degree in counseling, leadership, coaching or related field from an accredited university.
Certifications and Training :
Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.
Teaching, school administration, counseling or advising experience is preferred, but not required.
Must submit (according to Diocese of Austin policy) an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration.
