Inventory Control Specialist

Position Description:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the inventory control process primarily directed to finished goods and fulfillment supplies. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monitors all levels of in stock inventory and identifies key shortages. Including identifying lot numbers against expiration dates for stock rotation/disposition on all consumables.
  • Adhering to cyclic count procedures and developing detailed timelines for completion.
  • Creates detailed reports of all inventory adjustments and variations with detailed root cause analysis.
  • Communicates and works closely with the Operations manager to support any company initiatives, new product launches and management of Available To Promise (ATP) levels.
  • Monitors in-stock level supplies with the Operations Manager to support all forecasted requirements.
  • Independently identifies slotting requirements based on demand, upcoming sales and stock-keeping unit (SKU) introductions – management of replenishment tasks through monitoring and process pivots to ensure highest level of fulfillment efficiency.
  • Management of SKU-level detailing in warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Organization in location slotting across multiple sales channels (back-stock).
  • Audits compliance levels and receives finished goods inventory from manufacturing and supply vendors.
  • Reports any errors in mispicks, replenishments or failing to follow processes and recommends any adjustments to the current process as preventative measures.
  • Completes assigned training on time
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures 
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse/fulfillment operational processes
  • Experience developing root cause analysis to include recommendations for changes in processes/inventory flow
  • Ability to effectively communicate process changes 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Excel and Google Sheets, preferred

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of fulfillment experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years of inventory management experience 
  • Minimum of 2 years of WMS experience
  • 1 year leadership experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Consistently works in a warehouse environment.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Prolonged periods of performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use fingers to operate a computer and tablet.
