Job Title: Buyer II

What We Need:

The Buyer II is responsible for purchasing all materials, inventory, components, parts, supplies and services. This position will manage vendor accounts and process orders to ensure quality, timeliness, and fair price. The ideal candidate will be flexible in a fast-pace environment and will build positive relationships with both internal and external customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Recommend improvements and implement processes using industry best practices.
  • Analyzes inventory levels for purchasing decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers to assure material requirements are understood and can be met.
  • Purchase Bill of Material from ERP Reports and forecast.
  • Complete day-to-day purchases for research/design projects, supplies, etc.
  • Research and review vendors to create price, quality and delivery options for purchases.
  • Look ahead and discern procurement needs using BOM and demand.
  • Reduce cost through identifying cost reduction opportunities with vendors.
  • Maintain database of current vendor info and pricing.
  • Contact vendors to establish favorable terms and lines of credit.
  • Prepare purchase orders and complete data entry into Microsoft Business Central.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to ensure materials received versus materials ordered.
  • Expedite deliveries from suppliers as necessary.
  • Review requisitions, purchase orders, packing slips and other documentation as necessary to ensure accuracy.
  • Confer with staff and vendors to determine corrective action for defective and inaccurate shipments.
  • Assist with material kitting, staging, planning as necessary.
  • Other duties and job tasks as assigned.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or other related area of study and/ or 3-4 years of relevant experience in supply chain, purchasing, or client services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Previous experience working with ERP tools.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Salary Range - $70,000- $95,000

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
