A Maintenance Manager is responsible for various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Lead and maintain a safe work environment, upholding all company safety policies
  • Receives field calls for machine issues/breakdowns/specific job needs.
  • Coordinate schedule and prioritize field work for all maintenance employees
  • Manage and coordinate large equipment field repairs, while staying in a budget and time frame.
  • Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance with the projects
  • Manage overall equipment health, watching for repair trends.
  • Build, manage and maintain work orders, following up on completed work orders, ensuring work was properly performed and documented
  • Review and approve field mechanics/fuel and lube technicians daily time, ensuring accuracy and correctness.
  • Coordinate repairs and warranty claims with local dealers and project teams.
  • Manage heavy shop foremen, oversee shop health
  • Schedule shop work with the shop foreman, coordinating work on order of importance/need.
  • Works with “IX” dispatcher on any upcoming equipment moves that need assistance
  • Maintain and lead high quality environment, shop and field operations, this should include but not limited to quality of work, but also quality of the team. Grow and support your team.
  • Manage local Parts manager
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring invoice is correct.
  • Perform field visits, following up on mechanic performance, equipment performance, equipment health.

Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required and
  • 3-5 years previous related experience is required
  • Construction experience preferred
  • Must have strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assigned
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Occasional overtime maybe necessary during peak times
  • Demolition equipment knowledge preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment
  • Good knowledge of geographic area
  • Good communications skills
  • Some travel is required
