Environmental Project Manager

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Management: Oversee private and public contracting work related to environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, and safety/OSHA compliance.
  • Site Assessment: Attend bid walks to assess work scope, estimate disposal needs, and plan hazardous substance abatement for demolition in heavy industrial environments.
  • Waste Management: Characterize and profile non-hazardous and hazardous waste, arrange transportation, and ensure proper disposal.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Conduct field sampling, assess environmental remediation work, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Proposal Preparation: Prepare technical proposals, bid estimates, and written means/methods for regulated material abatement and remediation work.
  • Project Oversight: Manage implementation of decommissioning/remediation field work, project management duties, and documentation of environmental and construction activities.
  • Permitting: Coordinate with governmental agencies to obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Superintendent, Project Managers, and Operations Managers to support project needs.
  • Resource Management: Identify waste streams, procure materials, coordinate equipment for environmental crews, and manage waste pick-ups.
  • Safety Focus: Write SPCC plans, implement and monitor storm water and erosion control plans, oversee tank pulls and closures, and support IH work and hazard assessments.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience: 5-10 years in environmental/demolition industry with abatement and waste management emphasis, preferably in heavy industrial settings.
  • Field Work: Comfortable performing field work in heavy industrial environments, with demolition experience preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, industrial hygiene principles, storm water compliance, RCRA compliance, and universal waste management.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to prepare written estimates and technical proposals.
  • Motivation: Highly motivated to pursue professional development through formal training and on-the-job experience.
  • Willingness to Travel: Required travel is 50% or greater and with short notice (i.e. less then 24 hours notice).
