Didgwalic Wellness Center is Hiring an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) / Physician Assistant (PA) Near Anacortes, WA

The didgwalic Wellness Center is an integrated outpatient care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment all under one roof. We are growing so we are in search of an ARNP to join our team. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide both primary and urgent medical care to patients enrolled in our opioid addiction treatment program.

Our mission is to improve outcomes with quality health care solutions by removing barriers to treatment. Our comprehensive services include primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment in a dedicated care team model. We also go beyond these services to support our clients by offering a range of services like transportation, childcare, dental services, acupuncture, yoga, case management, and even free lunches while onsite. Our beautiful, state-of-the-art facility is located near Anacortes, Washington.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide primary and urgent care to patients with appropriate clinical management which may include prescription of medications, referrals, and education/counselling.
  • Manage common health issues that arise including Hepatitis C, Wound Management, URI, HTN, T2DM, COPD, and asthma.
  • Diagnose or treat complex, unstable, comorbid, episodic, or emergency conditions in collaboration with other health care providers as necessary.
  • Provide medical services including taking a history and physical examination of the patients for the opioid treatment program and performs appropriate follow-up visits.
  • Accurately and efficiently monitors daily doses of Methadone/Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) or other medications appropriate for the treatment of opioid use disorder.
  • Provide outpatient treatment services to persons addicted to opioids and other substances.
  • Develop treatment plans, based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines and consistent with didgáli policies.
  • Provide general health counseling services under the supervision of the Associate Medical Director and follows the progress of patients.
  • Make appropriate records of findings during examinations.
  • Educate patients regarding how to take prescribed medication and possible side effects.

Must Haves*

  • 2 years of related experience (Primary Care, Urgent Care, and/or Addiction Medicine).
  • Current valid WA state RN and Advanced Practice Nursing (ARNP) licensure.
  • Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Prescribing authority/DEA licensure in good standing in WA state preferred.
  • Understands and has the ability to adhere to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2).
  • Basic computer and software experience using Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of methods and principles of general medicine; methods of diagnosing and treating more common medical and/or mental disorders; clinics organization and procedures; social work and rehabilitation therapies.
  • Ability to examine, diagnose and recommend treatment of physical diseases and deficiencies; interpret laboratory analyses and X-rays; prepare comprehensive case histories.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Good empathy, as well as personal and ethical boundaries.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a cross-culture environment.
  • Understands the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery.
  • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to pass extensive criminal background check, pre-employment drug screening.
  • Tribal affiliation a plus!
