Job Summary/Basic Function
The position manages the administrative, financial, and educational and outreach programs for the Dickinson College Farm. The position functions with limited supervision to complete the requirements for the role and will develop systems to handle constant and evolving priorities as well as meet goals and deadlines for program and outreach initiatives.
Essential Functions:
  • Audits and monitors budget(s). Oversees financial matters for budgets and restricted funds to ensure financial transactions are handled properly; participates in/responsible for preparation and submission of new budget information; completes internal transfers, processes expenditures, and reports; informs program director of budgetary issues and advises expense adjustments; coordinates logistics of farm staff purchasing cards and completes reconciliation.
  • Documents and maintains department records and information. Serves as a liaison with cross-college departments to gather data and summarize records for inter-departmental transactions.
  • Maintains appropriate records to include licenses, certifications, vehicle registrations, and related administrative files including CSA enrollments; prepares information for special projects and reports for department as needed. Provides administrative support for grants and research projects as needed. Manages human resource functions of all student farm staff work contracts.
  • Organizes and coordinates logistics for regular educational and outreach events and activities with support from student workers who will work under their supervision. Hires, trains, supervises, and approves payroll for student(s) working directly under their supervision.
  • Serve as lead person at initiating contact and connection with campus departments on collaborative programming opportunities. Assists with operations at Farm Works, the farm’s campus store to include stocking shelving, taking product inventory, general store organization, and occasional store shift if student and other farm staff are not available.
  • Maintains departmental website and blog. Serves as point person for navigating online platforms for farm-related business transactions and CSA member management. Purchases/maintains office supply inventory.

Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience may substitute for all or some of the required education:
Minimum of five years experience with finance, marketing, and communications along with program development and coordination.

Bachelor’s Degree – Finance
A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period.
