The Billing Specialist with Diamond Braces prepares and submits claims electronically or by paper, answers questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies; identifies and resolves patient billing complaints; evaluates patient financial status and establishes and tracks payment plans; reviews accounts and recommends solutions; processes payments; participates in educational activities and attend monthly staff meetings; and maintains strict HIPAA compliance regarding patient privacy.

Essential Functions:

• Review provider orthodontic billing of services rendered for orthodontics claim submission.
• Review and respond to billing inquiries submitted by providers and staff.
• Work directly with offices and insurances to resolve specific billing issues.
• Analyze data for errors and report data problems.
• Partner with offices and insurances to correct and resubmit claims based on review of the records, provider input, and payor input.
• Implement and communicate specific orthodontics codes, documentation guidelines, and education for efficient, complete. and consistent clinical data.
• Ensure claims are billed consistently by following CPT and ADA rules and guidelines: escalate issues that may impact this immediately to the Compliance.
• Committee Abide by HIPAA and Coding Compliance standards.
• Collect data from various sources, maintain electronic records and logs, file paperwork, and operate office equipment.
• Accomplish other tasks as assigned.
