Diablo Valley Cabinetry is Hiring a Cabinetry Project Manager Near San Ramon, CA

Diablo Valley Cabinetry is looking to add a talented and experienced person to our Multiple Unit Project team. We are a locally owned and operated business celebrating our 41st year. We pride ourselves on quality, long term relationships with the contractors, cabinetry manufacturers, and suppliers we partner with. We are continually seeking passionate individuals to join our team of specialists.

Diablo Valley Cabinetry is a distributor of cabinetry and works with major cabinet manufacturers locally and across North America. We estimate and sell cabinetry to large Bay Area General Contractors for projects ranging from 20 - 500 units . We also work with local and regional architects, providing cabinetry expertise and input on future project specifications. All our deliveries are full truckload direct to the job-site.

This is a full-time position that reports to the owner of the company and will be responsible for day-to-day communication, activities and the successful execution of critical tasks associated with secured large multiple unit projects. 

Responsibilities

1. Project Communication – Maintains open, daily, weekly communication with Diablo Valley Cabinetry Multiple Unit team and job-site client teams based on each project’s current timeline.

2. Manages the Change Order Process from estimate to signing for assigned projects.

3. Holds Responsibility for successful execution of assigned projects, including:

  • Project Planning and oversight from project secured to project complete,
  • Timely identification of problems with creative solutions.
  • Cabinet delivery schedules.

4. Manages project costs for assigned projects.

5. Supports team in preparation for weekly DVC Multiple Unit Team meeting.

6. Fosters an enthusiastic, creative, "can do" attitude, and shares the responsibility for the overall department success in reaching its goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a project manager for minimum of 5 years in a general contracting company, cabinetry supplier or cabinet related position.
  • BS or BA degree preferable in Construction Management or experience equivalent.
  • Understanding of cabinet manufacturing (face frame and frameless cabinetry construction, features, quality & benefits, etc.), cabinet installation and how the cabinetry scope of work comes together.
  • Understanding of general construction specifications both within Company and the industry.
  • Understands design intent and able to work through nuanced details, ability to read and interpret architectural plans, details and specifications. Can visualize in three dimensions from two-dimensional data.
  • Computer literacy – computer based estimating, competency in MS Word, Excel, and industry specific software for managing change order, job cost and related project commitments.
  • Estimating experience using an automated software system.
  • Familiar with Design Software.
  • Proactive, flexible, team player who is comfortable working in a small company environment.
  • Forward looking, able to anticipate problems in advance and be prepared with possible solutions.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter.
  • Organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in it and on it simultaneously.
  • Invites coaching and feedback.

Salary to be commensurate with experience.
