Software Development Manager job in Washington, D.C. is available with GeoLogics Top Aerospace & Defense company. As the Software Development Manager you will join a Software Solutions team supporting the U.S Navy's Strategic System Program (SSP). This is a hybrid position requires at least 50% of all work to be performed on-site (three days one week/two days following week). To qualify for this job you will be a U.S. citizen holding a U.S. Department of Defense Active Secret clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret clearance.
RESPONSIBLITIES

• Lead software development initiatives by steering the direction of software projects to ensure alignment with business goals and quality standards
• Apply understanding of software design and development, object oriented analysis and design, and application architecture with technologies and programming languages such as; Java, .NET, Angular/React, JavaScript.
• Participate in and manage all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle including requirements, design, construction, unit testing, QA testing, deployment and on-going maintenance
• Appropriately delegate project tasks and provide guidance to build strong leadership and team skills Manage quality of software development to minimize risks and ensure code is functional, efficient, scalable and robust
• Create / review technical assessments, rough order of magnitudes and high-level requirements for assigned projects.
• Works with and lead High Performance Teams to develop, track and deliver project plans and deliverables.
• Ensure appropriate hiring, onboarding, training/cross training, establish and evaluate team member performance, promotions, salary actions and terminations
• Coach and mentor employees
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and government officials

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret clearance
• DoD IAT Level II certification, CompTIA Security
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 8 years of software development experience with three years' experience in a management or lead role;
• Demonstrated experience configuring, integrating and testing Software Applications and Systems
• Experience drafting technical instructions, technical designs and other technical documentation
• Software configuration management experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer's facility, and a SSP network account in good standing
• Experience applying DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Familiar with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
• Availability for on-call to lead teams to resolution for production outage incidents

• Pay Range: $70.00/hr - $80.25/hr W2 (an hour worked is an hour paid)
• Type: W2 hourly Contract (40 hrs), No 1099, No third parties, No C2C
• Duration: This position may transition to a full time, direct hire with our customer.
