Qualifications

Job Overview  

Do you enjoy developing fitness programs and working in a fitness facility? As the Health and Wellness Coordinator you will be responsible for the administration of the Airport’s health, fitness, and wellness programs, including the employee incentive completion tracking program. Further, you would play a vital role in the development of all health and wellness programs, fitness activities, lifestyle behavior challenges, educational intervention programs, and other special events as needed. What you will be doing: 

  • Administers health, fitness, and wellness programs and initiatives that are aligned with the Airport’s integrated health and wellness strategies.
  • Responsible for program development, implementation, and ongoing promotion of wellness programs such as health risk assessments, health screenings, health fairs, web-based health management tools, EAP services, on-site health management workshops, intervention programs and activities to assist employees and family members in obtaining a better, healthier quality of life.
  • Develops appropriate group exercise class schedules, sports leagues and challenge programs for the employee population, as well as maintain appropriate recordkeeping, evaluations, and project plans/surveys.
  • Maintains the LiveWell intranet page on Connected, making sure the content is accurate and up to date.
  • Obtains measurable data and metrics to assist Health & Wellness Manager in analyzing impact of health and wellness initiatives and develops management reports detailing the cost-benefit for each initiative.
  • Provides oversight of LiveWell exercise/fitness areas. Performs opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Coordinates community involvement and represents DFW LiveWell in various health awareness events.

What you need:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, Kinesiology, health promotion or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in developing and implementing components of a comprehensive health and wellness program, with experience in onsite fitness programs, corporate wellness, and/or fitness and functional capacity evaluations.
  • CPR/AED and first aid certified, or ability to be certified within 6 months. 
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above. 
  • Possession of a valid class C driver’s license.

  • Knowledge and experience in onsite fitness center supervision and management. 
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) 
  • Ability to plan, control and develop time and cost estimates for project activities. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization. 
  • Ability to plan, control and develop time and cost estimates for project activities. 
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and be a role model for healthy living and promoting healthy lifestyles.
