About the Position

Dexis is seeking a Project Associate to support project management and business development to support the Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation team. The team focuses on projects which increase program accountability, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of U.S. foreign assistance, and advance program learning. We work across USAID, Department of State and Department of Defense. The Project Associate will focus on our Department of State, Department of Defense, and Department of Labor portfolios; manage new short and long-term contracts; and support business development activities. The work location for this position is remote. This is a full-time position. The start date for this position is immediate.

Responsibilities
  • Provides support across the areas of project management, business development, and technical backstopping.
  • Provides general project operations assistance to project technical staff and backstops projects/country programs on a regular basis through e-mail and virtual meetings.
  • Provides scheduled and ad-hoc financial and/or budget reports. Drafts and finalizes reports for project quarterly, annual and close-out reports for internal and external use.
  • Review expense reports and subcontractor invoices.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and summarizes financial and project operational data using various database programs for inclusion in reports or presentation materials.
  • Assist in contract compliance and tracking financials, including budget and expenses.
  • Manages external consultants for various project assignments including developing scopes of work, reviewing expense reports, and approving deliverables.
  • Recruits, screens, and onboards project staff and consultants on an as needed basis; write scopes of work and engage directly with consultants.
  • Maintains filing system for project administrative, financial, and technical documents in Dexis knowledge management systems.
  • Research new business development opportunities in capture efforts.
  • Provide direct support to live business development opportunities, writing past performance sections, staffing and workplans.
  • Writes sections of proposals, and recruits and interviews potential candidates.
  • Manage small proposal efforts including liaising with potential staff and partners
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 0 - 2 years of experience working in an international development or USG contracting environment.
  • Understanding of USG procurement and compliance regulations.
  • Skills in budget development and financial tracking using Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent writing, editing and research skills are required.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products.
  • Fluent English speaker, professional proficiency in second language preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in social science, international development, public policy, business, finance or related field.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • 1-3 years of project planning and budget control experience in USG contracting, research, non-profit or international development environment.
  • Experience working donor-funded projects (experience with State Department projects highly desirable) as well as exposure to developing countries.
  • Prior experience with business development highly preferable.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
